Health Care Reform Trip to Washington DC

Davis-Garvin’s Employee Benefits Account Manager, Annette Stuck, attended the 23rd Annual National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) Capitol Conference in Washington DC in February 2013.

The Capitol Conference brought NAHU members together to listen to healthcare policymakers and leaders speak about the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the future of healthcare reform.  Agents, brokers and consultants attended the conference to address issues such as exchanges, market reforms, minimization of the potential health insurance cost increases and bipartisan implementation of healthcare laws.

After attending sessions with speakers from the Senate Small Business Committee, the Treasury Department, the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Pennsylvania Public Welfare, Maryland Health and Mental Hygiene and other industry professionals, attendees met with their state congressional leaders on Capitol Hill to discuss issues related to health reform.

Annette is working closely with clients, business owners and individuals to communicate the latest legislative updates and to educate on the impacts and requirements of the law.  Click here to view the everchanging healthcare reform implementation timeline including key features of the law that have already been put into place.  This information is subject to change as further guidance and updates are released.
